ok.....so.....I have changed the lower and pass side motor mount, and will be doing the tranny mount here very soon. I have a 97 Eclipse GS Manual. However, I keep getting the wrong mount from Advance and Oriellys...and then have to reorder...I actually had to order the pass mount on Ebay cause they never got the right mount in.

Anyway...they told me that I have a total of 4 mounts on my car...lower, rear, and one on each side?! I swear I only have 3...if there is suppose to be 4, that would make a very very good answer as to why I have a rough shift and if feels like my engine is gonna fall...

So am I suppose to have 3 or 4 mounts? if there is 4, can someone take a pic as to where it would be at on the driver side of the engine?

Mount on timing side...3 mounts on transmission. Mount from trany to cross bar (front). Mount on rear of transmission (infront of fire wall). And mount on the shell from top of tranny (passenger side). Your profile says gst eclipse

4 mounts total bro! Find the front lower mount which is under the turbo, now follow that line to the back side of the motor and you will see the rear lower mount. And if you can't find the side trans and side engine mounts, I suggest getting a different car LOL. Hope that helps bro, here's a pic of all 4 but with prothane inserts, so you get the idea of what each on looks like :) top left trans side mount, lower left is rear lower roll stop, top right drivers side mount, bottoms right front lower roll stop

WOW! I am missing the bottom left one (lower left is rear lower roll stop). So that one is on the passenger side? I don't have a turbo tho. I have changed the one that is by the timing belt, the lower front and I have the tranny mount (just gotta get to doing it).

Could you give me a picture of where this mount really is? I'm pretty dumbfounded that this mount is missing...

LOL :p
Yes OP you should have 4 motor mounts , they aren't exactly hard to find so if you don't see a 4th then somethin ain't right.

I have the prothane mounts myself , and they feel Absolutely amazing , but I also have no p/s, no a/c, no balance shafts. I love the sturdy feel my car has.

I don't have a picture, but look at your engine and find cylinder 4 which is right next to where the trans and engine bolt together. Now at that spot look at the firewall and down and you should see the mount under all the wires and crap. Since your a gs and have a 420a it will be closer to the driver side since your trans is on the driver side.

Isn't that my transmission mount?

I'm so wrong guys...sorry! It is the left trans side mount I am missing (first one in the picture). So where is this one at?

looking in the engine bay...
Left one by the timing cover is bolted to the engine

2 in the middle are bolted to the transmission. these are the roll stops. One is under your starter the other is under the throttle body.

The fourth is under the battery it is bigger like the left motor mount. in the pic above its the upper left one.

Okay guys...i'm getting a little confused as to which one I am missing now...I swear I'm not blonde :p

I have replaced the lower front, the side one by the timing belt, and I have the tranny mount that goes under the battery/right behind cylinder 4. Which one is it that I am missing?

Ok to make things less confusing reply with the one you didn't get. 1. Front roll stop 2. Rear roll stop 3. Side mount trans side 4. Side mount engine side
It sounds like your missing number 2 which in the picture I posted is the lower left mount, below throttle body and firewall.

According to your last statement, you are still looking for the one behind your motor bolted to your firewall. Look behind your throttle body and down the firewall. If you ever had a leak on the backside of your motor, it may be black and hard to see.

This pic, posted by finesse49ers, is of the rear motor mount. You can see it located beneath the white piece of paper. The others that I/we/you believe you have found are located 1) by the timing belt, 2) below the header, mounted to the cross-member, and 3) under the battery tray, on the driver's side.

I got them all changed!! That tranny mount was a character for sure...I released the front and rear mount and put the engine on a jack with a large piece of wood on it...lowered it just enough to pry that thing out...geez.
Thanks for all the help guys!!
