my car spun a rod bearing on the way home from work. i'm still kinda suprised it lasted as long as it has. my car is a gsx with 180k miles on it and from what i can tell it has never been rebuilt. it even had the stock timing belt and balance shaft belt.

so how many miles did you get out of your engine before it let go?

i got 145k on a 420a so far. the engine is warn out pretty bad though and needs a rebuild. oil consumption, lifter tick, lacking power. it still runs though and has no mechanical issues.

100,367 timing belt ripped bent cams and valves, timing belt tensioner pin broke off. Started doing work on it and also had to get new piston rings, new valve seals , new head gasket and new water tank. it was sitting for about 2 month and the fuel pump went. So mine didnt last that long.
