Holy crap!!!

Just a warning to anyone putting in there AWD tranny. Some how I dropped a washer inside the speed sensor hole during install and My built shep tranny ate it self for lunch  I hope this never happens to anyone else. I've put the tranny in 10 times now. I'm on my third one and I can't believe I have that bad of luck. Thank the car gods for John Shep. I called him and let him know what happened. I got 900 miles on it and then it made the hugest bang noise. Luckly I was on my way home and I was able to drive 2miles an hour idling in 1st gear home. It sure goes a long way to not blame the vendors right away. I took it out and sent it to him. When he sent me the pics of what happened I am so glad I didn't jump to conclusions and yell and scream. He really hooked me up and fixed it quick. We came to a very fair price and It's on its way back now:thumb:

Thank you John Shep!

Tanner,

This time I am sure you will leave the shipping plug in until you put the speedo back in :) That washer bounced around and found everything it could. I still have it if you want to get your revenge on it haha.

My brother accidentally dropped the bolt for the speed sensor into its hole. We had no idea where it went, but assumed the worst. We took turns shaking the tranny around over the course of a few days, but heard and saw nothing. Then one day he sat down with it and went at it for about a half hour and low and behold, the bolt came back out. We were lucky we got it out! That sucks that it ruined yours, but glad to hear he's treating you well and you're getting it back up and running.

I had a similar experience when I was helping a buddy install a brand new MHI EvoIII16G, dropped a bolt into the compressor outlet. Got it out thank god. Needless to say plug important holes when working on shit. :)

Good to hear it is getting taken care of. I know the feeling about transmissions. I just took mine out last weekend so it could be opened up again for the second time in two months. So help me I will never buy another ACT clutch again.

While putting the caps on the cam, I dropped one into a hole and I heard a destinct tink in the oil pan, i had to get a big magnent and a probe.

I also got the hook up from Jon at TRE when my rebuilt needed a rebuild after 8 months because of our fault. He is a great guy!

Hey shep ...big fan man ...every time i show ## car to the driver of a V8 in Canada they almost have a heart attack ...and these hondas up here too...i tell them this is a talon that is your worst nightmare ...very fast and next winter that's my first upgrade is to a shep stage three rebuild ...big repect homie form up here in canada...:thumb::talon::talon:

It helps to not over react when dealing with vendors i blew my center diff out of my shep tranny a couple months after i installed it. I over reacted and you could tell they didn't appreciate it when it was my fault. All it does is make things harder for yourself.
