I want to know how hard it is to change the lifters. I’ve read about the DOHC engines. Does anyone know if the steps for the 2.0L apply for the 1.8 sohc as well?
I feel like it may be the same process / similar, but I'm afraid of finding out the hard way and having to fight the dual timing belts. ProDemand makes the process look harder than it probably is I'm sure, but since I'm gonna be pulling it to reseal it, I also want to take care of the tick too. The plan is to reseal it, replace the lifters and possibly do the oil port mod I've seen on here if I can find someone willing to plane the head

, I've done timing on a beetle, clutch on an f150, injectors on same f150 and a Hilux, head gasket on a lawn mower, and overall general service / c tech \ early b tech work. Debating a compression test to it before I put any hard parts at it
