How important is it to upgrade the valve keepers in the head?

i was planning on running stock because i figured they would be good enough. i only plan on running the head to 8k. slowboy says they are for heads reving past 8.5k+++ but im just looking for a second opinion. i dont really have much tied up in my head. im using stock valves, new valve stem seals, bronze valve guides, forced performance pf2 cams, all in a ported 2g head.

Unless you plan to run it in the high rpm high horsepower realm, I'd stick to stock keepers. Geez, I've used them since eclipses were new on the market and have never seen a failure. Installed wrong, yes, but never a failure due to material. You will likely float a valve into a piston before you throw a keeper. That would take a bunch or rpms. Usually the old missed full throttle shift. That will do it.

Now, if you are going for 450 hp and above and are going to really flog it hard, get the whole package. Titanium as much as you can, stainless the rest.

This lightens the valve train and lessens chances of valve float.

i forgot to put that i also got manley springs and retainers. i plan on running low 11s one day, but i will probably put a diffrent head on before i reach that goal. so i figure i will put them in the next head.

thanks guys i figured that. but someone just recently posted a video on this sight and when i went and looked at his mod list i seen that he had the manely keepers and it kida made me worried because i was just going with the stockers. thanks for clearing that up for me.
