how do you register on ecmlink.com?

I tried signing up to the forums and it says "The ECMLink support forum is intended for registered users of ECMLink. We do that to keep the forum direction specific to ECMLink support issues"

what do i do? i have ecmlink on my laptop, i'm just trying to register for the forums.

Send Tom and email with your serial number (bottom right corner of the ECMLink software on your laptop) and that will get you on there. You must be connected to the car's ECU of course.

He will then ask for your info. IE what username you want, your name, and so on.

Do you have a real (not pirated) ECMLink chip, cable, etc? Or did you just download the software off their website?

If it was purchased through a vendor it should have been taken care of through them. If not, you'll just need to verify your chip like Lewis mentioned. Pretty straight forward.

The software doesn't allow you access to the forum, owning their product does

The office is closed until the 27th of this month. Tom will check the emails periodically so it may take a while to get everything taken care of, just a heads up.

oh gotcha, no i got my ecu chipped and my friend gave me ecmlink cd with the cable

He said he got his ECU chipped. I'm guessing he bought the ECU from someone with DSMLink installed.
