How do you diagnose a GM MAS??

Before I start, let me assure you that I have taken the time to search for info. I need to know how to diagnose a faulty GM MAS?

Over the weekend I try to install my MAFT which has been stored for over 5 years. When i was done with the installation, the check engine light came on and CEL 12 showed up. I have 12 Volts, ground and a referance voltage of .25v @idle and .35 @WOT. All voltage values were measured at the MAS connector (GM pigtail)My question is; is there any way to measure resistance or know for sure that the sensor is faulty??

You would have to flow the amounts of air that an engine flows through the sensor and measure it's output.... your best bet is to run a car w/ a logger and see if the sensor is giving bad values.

BTW, gm maf was never meant for blow thru (which is what everyone seems to use them for)... so when you get oily blow by on the sensor it probably fouls a lot quicker than it would staying dry in a draw through setup. Blow through is "wrong" and the sensor was never meant to be in heated/pressurized air... although it does "work" these are some of the main contributors to the complaints about this sensor being "inaccurate".... of course it's inaccurate when not being used the way the mfgr suggested.

You swap it out for another gm sensor and see if the problem goes away.
