i just got my car back from the shop from it sitting for a very long time and it seems to be running good, except the idle seems to be very low it is under 1000 rpms and when i rev it and it comes back down the car will stall and when im slowing down on the road and stop it will stall again. i called the shop back and they said just to turn my idle up but there directions were a bit confusing? can any one be of further assistance?

well it drops to like five then up then back down then stalls so its just a screw?

It could just be the adjustment on the BISS, or the Idle Position Switch could be not working (broken, disconnected, not grounded), or the Idle Speed Control servo could be bad, or the ECU could be damaged. Any one or more together can cause the idle to drop like that.

Check you tps or for a leak. there is a idle adjustment screw on your throttle body but should not need to be adjusted because it was running fine previously. i would check other problems before you play with the screw.

ok so i turned the idle up just so it wouldnt drop so mutch it would stall so now it just bounces in between 1200 and 600 i just dont understand i just got the car back from being tuned at turbo trix in edison nj with a new ecu so idk how they didnt notice it. but sometimes it will level out and idle fine so its probably my throttle position sensor?

It could be the ISC (Idle Speed Control) motor. It's located on the bottom of your throttle body. The exact same thing was happening to my car. Make sure it's not the easy stuff first cause a new motor costs $50-$75.

best bet is to have the throttle body rebuilt. the gaskets start to dry rot with age and may leak.this guy rebuilds throttle bodys and also has rebuilt isc for $50.he does good work

throttle body rebuilt?
throwing parts at an issue doesn't really solve a problem.
Spray propane, carb cleaner or anything that burns fast around gaskets to find vacuum leaks at idle. Idle should surge up when you spray on a leak, just don't use chlorinated brake cleaner.
