okay guys im ready to throw the motor in but im trying to do the fuel system first. does the portfueler rail run off of the bleeder valve of the stock rail? Then do you just run a line from the other end of the portfueler rail to the new fuel pressure regulator in the side. then run a return line out the bottom of the new FPR and then what do i splice it into my stock return line in the back by the tank?

Um... hopefully this will help a little:

It's the same concept with the newer model fuel system, except, like you said, you route the portfueler rail inline from the stock rail's test port. Then you run a return line back to the fuel regulator, then finally to the tank.

okay but how do i run the return line, i run it all the way from the engine bay to the back by the gas tank cause i have the old system. But do i just splice it into the other return line coming off the stock FPR? how do i make that connection?

the stock fpr is disabled.
you just run the line from the 1:1 fpr all the way to the return port on the fuel tank

He says he has the old fuel system...does that not mean he already has a return line  Yes the stock fpr is disabled. Your supply comes from the back up to the fuel filter, then to the rail. Goes through the rail, and return line comes out, then to the portfueler rail...from out of that rail you will go to the new 1:1 fpr, then back to the return line (hard line) you should already have on the firewall. Disregard if you have the newer fuel system because you will indeed have to run a return line back to the tank. Hope this helps...or maybe I'm just babbling LOL

OKay so the stock FPR is disabled. where is my return line? i only have the feed line cause my old fpr is in the back so the return line is only like three feet from the stock fpr to the tank. and then just the hard line that is the feed line to the stock fuel rail.

So then you have the newer style fuel system... All that means is that you'll need to run your own return line.

This may all sound complicated, but it's really not. You'll need to begin by removing the stock FPR and setting the stock return line aside for now.

As far as the feed line goes, it should run directly from the fuel pump, through your fuel filter, to the stock fuel rail.

From there, plumb a line from the test port on the fuel rail going to the inlet on the PortFueler rail.

From the outlet of the PortFueler, run a line to the new FPR. From the FPR, run a line back to the stock return line and connect them.

It should make one continuous circuit; something like this:

Fuel Pump >> Fuel Filter >> Stock Fuel Rail >> PortFueler Rail >> Aftermarket FPR >> Fuel Tank

In fact, here's a better diagram detailing your exact situation:

+1 ...you definitely have the newer fuel system, and that's how it should be setup :thumb:

okay im ready for start up but i have one last question then the beast hits the road. for the hahn connection to the ignition coil pack which wire do i splice into out of the three coming into that plug?

Ya got me... I didn't know PortFueler required you to splice into the coil pack... Are you sure you aren't talking about the tach signal? If so, that's the white wire coming from the ECU.

Call hahn,
Their tech support is top notch and you definetly paid enough to get it.

so do i completley like take out the stock fpr or just block off the return line so i can use it for the new FPR

Call Hahn!!!

If you were impressed by them enough to pay for the PortFueler, than you deserve their tech support that comes with it...they can answer all these questions no problem :thumb:

Ok maybe i can make this easy.
on my system, the stage 4 portfueler on a 96 fuel system.

The line comes from the oem fuel pump to the fuel filter to the inline walbro pump to the fuel rail to the secondary rail to the aeromotive fpr that came with the portfueler to the return port on the tank.

The stock return line and stock fpr are gone.

Okay guys well it turns out i had it all right im just a idiot and forgot to take out the valve core on the bleeder valve on the stock rail so now it runs great just got to break her in for 1000 miles then boost it up to 15psi I cant wait! 300 horse here i come

...did you say inline walbro fuel pump?
