How do I get this metal retainer clip off to remove the connector on the g sensor on a 95 gsx

Anyone know how to remove the metal clip to get this plug off my g sensor? I don't know if I'm supposed to pull outwards on the top or what to do. The bottom side (first picture) the clip sits deeper in the plug. I bought two metal dental picks to have something to lift up on the metal clip I just don't know where to start to get it off

I've only used a small flatblade screwdriver to push the wire down and over the plastic lock and once it's over the lock you can slide the wire out until it clears the slots in the sides of the connector. It doesn't have to come all the way off just far enough to clear the slots in the sides.

A small pick and pull it from that center tab. Shouldn't take more than 10 seconds.

The way the tabs are on the male connector, they push the wire out of the way as the female connector slides on. Then the wire reaches the end of the tab and seats down locking the two.

Just make sure your ready because these are notorious for falling down to never be seen again or to go flying...at least to me they are
