How can I keep my boost gauge vacuum line from slipping off the intake mani nipple? It's tee'd into where the fuel pressure solenoid is attached to the intake mani.
The nipple doesn't have a bead on it, it's slick brass, and my vacuum line popped off of it twice. I put a zip-tie around the line, but I can still pull it off by hand fairly easily.
Does anyone ever rough the nipple up with sandpaper to give the line something to grip? Could I use some kind of thread sealant or other non-permanent adhesive on it? if so, what do you suggest? Or is that a bad idea in case chunks of it break off and get sucked into the line?
By the way it's an electronic boost gauge, if that matters. Do I need to have this inline filter (came with the gauge) on the line or is that even neccessary? Will that filter cause my gauge to be more inaccurate?
Thanks,
Dylan
