How can I identify a true Turbonetics Turbo?

I want to buy one but I don't know how identify a true TURBONETICS because a lot of people try to deceive the buyer selling imitations.

Help me please

There should be a "T" cast into the center housing somewhere near the oil supply flange, there should also be an anodized compressor backplate with a Turbonetics sticker and part number. The compressor cover and turbine housing are interchangeable with Garrett parts, so don't look for much brand identification reinforcement from those parts.

somebody sells me a Turbo and he says it's a turbonetics. I saw it and has the ''T'' cast into the housing and a sticker with the part number but doesn't have the word ''turbonetics'' for any side.

Well they could weld a Turbonetics elbow onto the turbo. My old frank 20G had that mod, but it's quite noticeable, since the elbow was welded on LOL

If you can't notice a welded elbow onto a turbo then you need your head checked. It's a raised T that is put in the casting, you CANNOT copy it.

Go look at your valve cover the dohc logo is made the SAME way OMG
