Hey guys I haven't really found anything about how to identify the year of my block. I am looking to find out because I know it has a 1g head and intake manifold on it and I want to know if I have a 2g block or not. I know its a 7 bolt because when I did my clutch the flywheel was held on with 7 bolts. If you guys can help at all that would be great!

I went out and looked for it and only saw a number on the bellhousing itself which wouldn't help me. Is there any way I can call it a 2g block as far as any parts on it like water pipes or anything like that?

This has been covered so many times lately. To differentiate a 2G block from a 1G block: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/newbie-forum/383946-my-first-dsm-motor.html#post152352853

The VIN number will be in the encircled location, even though your engine doesn't look exactly like the one pictured: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/newbie-forum/385908-eclipse.html#post152377859

Check the 10th digit of the VIN, as it represents the model year.
L - 1990
