Alright, I just bought a turbo off of ebay , and I am not sure what kind it is. It could be a 14b or 16g ... How would I tell the difference between the two?

Check auction listing that you bought it from
I would not buy anything unless I knew what it was first! :nono:

WOW

What numbers are on the turbo and who is the manufacturer? $50 says you got one of those POS from that company who just went out of business/was bought by another crappy company, not mentioning any names.

or a t-25 ROFL

Bro, not to be ignorant, but if you don't even know what kind of turbo you bought, then why did you even buy it? i.e. you should have at least some sort of plans for what you want your car to do, and that begins with picking the right turbo for your plans, not just buying any ol turbo without knowing what it is. In the meantime, I would just ask the ebay seller, I would hope that they know.

its easy to tell a 14b from a 16g...look at the fins, if all are the same size, then it is a 14b...if the fins are odd sized like one comes all the way up and there's one reight behind it not all the way up, then its a 16g...But the easiest way to find out is the casting number unless they changed the wheel...Casting numbers are as follows:

s16g= 49178-00520
B16g=49178-00420
Evo3=49178-01470

14b's have different numerations but usually are something like
49178-0141, 0140
