I know that even 1 mm of axial play is kind of bad, but this definitely takes the cake. Sorry for your loss, I guess. Will you be sending it off to be rebuilt or?
 
Bad deal. Make sure you get it balanced before you put it back on

It doesn't need balanced as long as you mark the nut and the shaft and line them back up when you put it back together.
 
With that much play everything except the turbine housing is probably toast.

The compressor has hit the compressor housing, the turbine ring groove in the center housing and turbine is toast, and the turbine has hit the heat shield.
 
The thrust bearing is WTFO. Never shud you be able to push and pull, just up and down slightly on a journal bearing for oil float.
