Hooking up new radiator fans

Hey I just installed an aluminum radiator and also aftermarket fans I would like to make it so the after market fans turn on and off just like the stock fans do so I figured we'll ill just wire together the plug in from the stock fan on to the after market. But what I realize it that the stock fan had four wires and my after market has only two. So my main question is will I be able to do this and if so how do I do it what wires go where? And if I can't do it what are my other reasonable clean looking options

Hmm, it just worked for me. Ill copy and paste it for you.

No images but perhaps more detail will
help.
USING HARNESS SIDE WIRES OF FAN
CONNECTOR:
For driver's side fan:
Connect the following together:
1. Original fan harness connector's blue/
white (ie. blue with white stripe) wire with
2. original fan harness connector's blue wire
with
3. new fan's + wire (usually non-black)
Also connect the following together:
1. Original fan harness connector's black
wire with
2. original fan harness connector's blue/
black wire with
3. new fan's - wire (usually black)
For passenger's side fan:
Connect the following together:
1. Original fan harness connector's white/
black wire with
2. original fan harness connector's white/
blue wire with
3. new fan's + wire (usually non-black)
Also connect the following together:
1. Original fan harness connector's black
wire with
2. original fan harness connector's blue/
green wire with
3. new fan's - wire (usually black)
USING FAN SIDE WIRES OF "ORIGINAL FAN"
CONNECTOR:
For driver's side fan:
Connect the following together:
1. Original fan harness connector's blue/
black wire with
2. original fan harness connector's blue wire
with
3. new fan's + wire (usually non-black)
Also connect the following together:
1. Original fan harness connector's black
wire with
2. original fan harness connector's black/
white wire with
3. new fan's - wire (usually black)
For passenger's side fan:
Connect the following together:
1. Original fan harness connector's blue
wire with
2. original fan harness connector's green
wire with
3. new fan's + wire (usually non-black)
Also connect the following together:
1. Original fan harness connector's black
wire with
2. original fan harness connector's yellow
wire with
3. new fan's - wire (usually black)
Note: If ECU doesn't turn fans on when
engine hot, test the 2 wire engine coolant
temp sensor near thermostat (2.1k-2.7k
ohms @ 68F, 260-360 ohms @ 176F).

I wired the stock plugs to the gst's after market fans as described above and they work like little champs. Nothing to it.

I did the Same, the link to the other thread was actually saved as a bookmark on my phone...
Made wiring easier since i didn't have to write it down or remember.

I honestly didn't even look up wiring instructions for it..I just made educated guesses based on the wiring colors. There's not too many things that I'm really handy with, but wiring is one of the things that I'm pretty good at, which sucks because I don't enjoy it and everyone is always asking me to fix stuff

Not yet I will try today after work one thing I for got to right was that I put the fans facing away from the motor

Hahaha to MJcanada... nice to see a little humor in these posts, keeps them from getting too dry. Alssssoooo... duane you mentioned you wanted "other options" too if you didn't end up wiring them to go auto blow. I actually decided i didn't trust my car to turn them on when it got too a "certain temp" anymore bcs it started acting retarded so I hardwired both slim fans onto a flipswitch under my dash. I freakin loved it. Don't discredit that option either. I never had one burn out. Just run a large enough fuse over 20V i believe. I popped a few at first at 15v.

I will deffinately think of that as an option I just don't want the fans running if they don't need to be

Would be nice to have a switch tucked away somewhere. I ended up wiring mine like OEM mentioned above. AC works like normal. If I want them full on I set it via DSMLink.

Sorry to rob your thread but I wired mine exactly like dfwdsmer and the car ran great for about 15 minutes. I let it idle for a little and the water temp shot up to 220 degrees from 140 in about 4 minutes. Fans are not working at all.
