Hey guys, I've been browsing the site for awhile now and have gotten plenty of help from the site, but I'm stuck on my turbo set up at the moment and really need some help. I'm trying to get my 96 talon tsi awd to 400-500 hp and do it with the best budget turbo out there. I have a built 6 bolt that will handle it, but will just need the support mods when I get the turbo(injectors etc) I've read alot of threads and suggestions for 20g's, gt35's, pte 6152's etc but they're all out of my budget for the turbo itself. The best turbo for me seems to keep leading back to the Holset 35. One problem, I cant do the work myself! Not enough space or time. I live in Frederick, Maryland and have called almost every performance shop in Maryland and anything within a few hour drive, and none have the know how to do all thats needed for the install. So i'm stuck here... Does anyone know where I can find a shop to do it? Or is there another cheap budget turbo that shops know about to meet my goals?

Also this car will be a DD and weekend warrior car, so a quick spool time would be great!

I appreciate any help I can get, Thanks!

I don't know a ton shop rates etc for work like that, but it may cost more for a bunch of fab work(depending on what you are planning on doing) compared to a bolt together turbo setup that is a little more upfront. I'm sure it can add up very quickly.

So I guess I'm going to have to hold the shops hand then? I'm sure if they dont know much about holsets theyre not going to know how much oil pressure it needs or where to mount it etc.

Hell OP, get all your parts together, and bring your car to me, and I'll install it all for you! You're about two hours frome me!

Thanks for all the help guys! Talon dave I think I might take you up on your offer I'll pm you.

since i broke the rules on my last post ill just agree with everyone else LOL.

holset setups are very cheap and very easy to install. you can figure everything you need to know out on here. there are a lot of people that would probably come to you and help you if you needed it.

Yah thats mainly what i've been looking for, someone to help figure out the details and install it, i know the main parts such as the turbo, bep housing, 02 housing, wastegate etc, but i cant find the small stuff like what size oil lines etc. And I live in an apartment complex which forbids you to do any type of work on your car(changing parts wise) and honestly I dont completely trust myself doing that work yet LOL

You're in Frederick, home of ECM Tuning. Surely those guys would be able to put you in touch with a reputable shop in the area willing to do the work at a fair price.

Of course Dave's offer is quite tough to pass up.... :thumb:

Excellent! Dont think ive called them yet, and if no luck there i will be asking talondave, thanks jusmx141, I appreciate the idea!

Well i'm willing to help out, but of course it won't be for free, but definitely cheaper then any shop!

There are several shops in Maryland that can do the work liek amstuning.com. Also Goldfarb and Associates are in Rockville not too far from Atlantic Motorsports (amstuning, not the AMS from Chicago) to get a Holset from or you can get one form the classifieds. Just to show you some options but I would take up on Talondaves offer in a heart beat!
