I am looking for suggestions on a good turbo that will make at least 550 but still hit full boost kind of early. So far I am considering the Precision 6152E Dual ball bearing turbo from slowboy. I talked to a guy that had one and he said it is a pump gas monster and would hit full boost around 42-4600 with my setup. Anyone have any suggestions for anything that is capable of making the power but able to hit full boost a little sooner?

Oh yea... I have a brand spanking new td06h20g for sale in classifieds if anyone is interested.

I recommend the forced performance turbos. I have the fp3052 on my car and i love it. It really depends on how you have the car built. I mean is it going to be on a stock motor etc. I have a fully built car and i am seeing boost as soon as about 31-3500 rpms. I did my base dyno and made 300 fwhp and 300 ftlbs of tourqe at 16lbs, running rich and with no timing adjustments in the power FC. I just got my TRE stage 2 tranny back today so i am looking to put down somewhere around the 450 fwhp mark. I would recommend the fp3065 if you have the money to invest as you'll be able to get 550 easier and more efficiently with that turbo. If you are running a stroker kit the turbo should spool right about the 37-3800 mark. But you'll need to post more info than just needing a 550 hp turbo. A good site to check out is the myturbobygarrett.com site it lists a lot of info about turbos and has a chart showing what turbos are rated at what horsepower.

In that power range but looking for a quicker spool, you may also want to try to PTE 6031. This is going to be slightly smaller but is a 60 trim turbo. Are you looking to keep the mitsu housing or bumping to a T3? If you are switching to the T3 also remember the higher A.R. the more air flow but this will also slightly slow the spool. :thumb:

The SCM61 is a good unit or the FI62 is another unit that I ordered for a friend of mine that I liked. Can't go wrong with either.

I would expect you to see full boost at about 4400-4600rpm

I agree with this poster if your motor was stock and you didn't have the upgrades you have. I know that cams and having a built motor helps alot. You should personally see boost by 4000 rpms. I mean the 3052 that i have comes on strong right at about 3100 rpms and it's rocking and rolling all the way till i shift at 7000rpms. I should have my tre tranny installed this week and broken in by next week with the full tune. I will probably just bump my redline up to 7500 rpms. I know i could get more with everything being fully built but my vision for my car is a balanced car with a really good tune.

I disagree with you there man. Again looking at his mods boost will be their realistically by about 4000-4500 easily again even stock motors have made boost with that turbo at that level plus it's dual ball bearing so if he's at 5000 rpms to make 500hp with that turbo something aint right. Again on a heavily modified motor you can run less boost to get to the same power because the motor is more effiecient. My turbo on stock motors see boost at about the 35-3600 rpm mark and again im having full boost consistently at about 3100 rpms because of the cams and motor being built plus i have .20 overbore. Here is a copy and paste of his engine internals from his profile Completely rebuilt w/ TopLine rebuild kit // Wiseco 9.0:1 Pistons // Eagle Rods // Ported Head W/ 3 angle valve job // Stainless valves // Dual valve springs & titanium retainers // Balance Shaft Removal Kit // Revised Lifters // SS Manifold studs // Prothane Motor Mount Kit // Kevlar timing belt // New EVERYTHING

please note he has a ported head and the fact that he is running higher compression with this motor he will easily see full boost to make 500whp way before 5000rpms

Holset, holset, holset!!! Did I mention Holset? I would probably go with a Holset HX-40 or a HX35. Depends on your relationship (how you run it) with your turbo.

YEAH, as I mention before you really should consider Holset HX35/HX40. Being it 360 bearing doesn't mean that it is laggy. Holset is one of the most advance 360 turbos out there with a twin blade rotor. Being that you have a similar setup as I, you'll easily get 500awhp 3600-4000rpm with HX40.
