Hello everyone.

I need validation from someone to see if my oiling is proper for the wh1 currently using.

Ive searched and i have found the oiling specs, but im still nervous about since i dont want to end up with blown turbo.

I know that at idle it should not be less that 10psi, when on load or boost minimum of 30psi no more than 72 psi.

So in between 30 - 72 psi is good under driving and boost conditions?

Currently At idle with car at operating temp im at 15psi.

When normal driving and boost im at 44-48 psi.

Is this good?

I have the line tees from the turbo inlet going to the cabin and temporarily reading the pressure with a fuel gauge.

I don't have an oil gauge to install so i used that one. The line is kinda long to the cabin. I rolled up a good junk and tied it in front of the turbo.

This are the pics of gauge and how i rolled up the oil line.

Any help provided is very appreciated.

I would think you should be golden with those oil pressures. I only see about 12/13 psi at full hot idle using -4an from ofh and black fp inline oil filter bored out to .375", or 3/8ths". I increased my idle to 1100 rpm's to keep oil pressure up. Also important to have your oil drain as large as possible. -12an is usually recommended on this forum but you must remove oil pan to weld in a -12an bung to it. I actually managed to run a -16an bung fittings and line, but was a bit of extra work and experimenting with many different brands and such. I attached a pic of my oil pressure gauge directly at turbo. It is a fuel pressure gauge, which works fine as long as its not liquid filled. Also the glass did melt, so had to remove it, but still works perfectly. Would be good insurance to see turbo's oil pressure in cabin, but didn't want a bulky sending unit there. May change it up this spring, but do have aftermarket oil pressure gauge from the ofh.

-16an?!!? Wow. I mean, damn. That certainly will do the job.

OP, its a jb turbo. Holset or any other jb likes a good size drain. You're perfect with the pressures you're getting. As long as its 10 or 12an it'll flow right through like it should.
As far as that extra roll of braided, i thing i would be worried about it damaging the rad hose or you mbc line. Vibration/friction can do a lot of damage. Might want to relocate it and run the line properly. But if you've verified your pressures at the turbo i think you're safe and dont need the extra line and gauge from that location. Its always a good safety measure. But in the end its up to you. IMO not worth the extra lines/gauge
 
Boost97gst is absolutely correct, -10 or -12an should be fine for the oil drain as long as there are no kinks and flows as close to vertical as possible, especially at only roughly 40 psi. Now just out of curiosity, are you running -3an, or -4an, or other? Also, still plan on running that in-cabin gauge, why not shorten and remove the excess line? btw, thanx Boost97
 
Thanks for the replies. Im paranoid kinda dude. So im buying a nice oil mechanical gauge and leaving it on there. Using the -4am feed line from the ofh and a fp inline filter/restrictor.

Now what happens if i remove the in cabin line. Will that increase the pressure a bit more?
