Oiling problem?

The car started tapping really light, dsmlink started registering the noise as knock. I changed the oil shortly after. Noise gets worse.

It doesn't seem to be rod knock and kinda sounds to high in the motor to be a crank bearing. Oil pressure is great, nor did it change as the problem was noticed and got worse. For that reason I would expect it to not be any bearing problems.

So I pull the valve cover and pop the rocker arms off to check the lifters. 4 of the 16 lifters are pumped up. What would cause 12 lifters to not fill or maybe collapse??

Or any ideas??

I'm changing the lifters as we speak with a set I had laying around to see if anything changes. I don't want to ruin these ones if there is a problem with the oiling system.

Well its a spunt rod bearing on #2.

I got to thinking about it and I was pushing on the piston at the wrong time. Was pushing on them when they were on their way up and not on their way down to show play.

Ooops.

But why would the damn lifters be sloppy like that??
