recently picked up an PTE SCM61 in a DSM bolt on housing. i did some searching, and came up with no results on oil feed specs. this is a journal bearing turbo, im curious as to how i should oil this thing. i figured that being a journal bearing turbo, that an OFH feed would work well. should i be using a restrictor? feeding from the head or OFH? i plan on using a -10 return line setup, but i am undecided on the feed. any input is appreciated. thank you!

Filter housing for sure- but don't expect to get any assistance from PTE. They'll tell you to source it at the filter housing with no restrictor, and within no time you'll have oil dumping in to the exhaust. They like creating repeat customers, apparently. LOL

thank you Justin, you were the one i was hoping would respond to this!

would i be better off buying something like this?

EXTREME PSI : Your #1 Source for In Stock Performance Parts

or should i go with something like the red FP filter/restrictor?

thanks again for your feedback!

edit: this is a ported OFH, i see about 85 psi at the very max around 8,000 RPM's, and 20ish at warm idle.

That restrictor you linked to at Extreme is for Ballbearing turbos the hole in that is something like .035 ..

For what it's worth my car with no b-shafts and a ported oil relief filter housing, -4an line from ofh, a .082 sized restrictor brought me very good results with the t3 sc61. I bought a standard journal bearing restrictor that came in something like .065 or .075 and drilled it out with a 2mm (.082) bit.
