Here is how my CYCLONE manifold will be activated.

Screw all the nonsense with having trouble opening up the butterflys at a certain RPM, or using the canister and solenoids. This is the T25 actuator mod for those who havent seen it. Its an easy way to get them to stay closed and open up at 8PSI. It will run of manifold pressure and will open up the butterflys @ around 8 psi when the actuator arm extends.

For people not sure what the cyclone is good for, it is good for bottom end torque associated with spooling up the turbo, preferably a big turbo, but hey faster spool up on any turbo is never a bad thing in my opinion.

When running a cyclone intake manifold. Its a dual runner manifold. Half the runners are close at low boost to help spool up on the turbo, then when, on this mod, boost hits 8 psi the actuator will activate opening up the other runners.

Do all of the manis have actuators on them? I was digging around under the hood the other day and found one. I was a little suprised and thought to myself "I thought these things went on the turbo, why is there one on my mani"?

Did you manage to at least port or extrude hone it as much as possible? If not, it won't be as efficient as you think. Some might call it lacking compared to a SMIM.

No, this doesnt come on the stock IM or the Cyclone, I had it put on. I bet you are looking at your FPR on your fuel rail.

The stock intake flows 203CFM, The cyclone flows 201CFM. You think thats lacking? You wont even feel it, Ive rode in cars with this done before I persued it, you cant feel the slight loss of 2 CFM at redline, at least on an ass dyno. 2 CFM isnt much, when turbos flow xxx amounts.

It was on the intake side of the mani and lower down, thats all i remember. It looked just like an actuator.

You have to be looking at the FPR, yes, it looks like a mini actuator.

Oh itll work. Like I said, Ive rode in buddys cars with this exact same thing done and thats what got me to go for it. Im tempted to put my O2 dump back on to work in conjunction with the runners opening up at wastegate pressure.

You are missing the point of the manifold it isn't to flow more it is to flow less... at the bottom end therefore spooling up those big turbos faster.

EDIT** apparently some have misunderstood what I have written and I should make myself clear. The cyclone on the bench with the runners closed flows less but that is not what makes it effective. Under boost it is like sticking your finger over the end of the garden hose speeding up the water, (air in this case) into the cylinder utlimatley helping spool that large turbo.

I dont know what you are talking about. I stated the CFM, which I under stand is at vacuum but it shows the size difference not being that much. And then I said the slight difference may make the car die off at higher RPM's because of more restriction of the manifold itself. I referred to the number of CFM turbos are rated at to point that 2 CFM's isnt a big number.

I get the point of the manifold, its to cram all the air down one single runners to build presssure kinda like the wastegate flapper does on a turbo, and then it opens up the other runners.

I dont know what point you were trying to make argueing with me about something off the point of my thread, here is how Im gonna run my manifold and Its been proven to help with spool up at all times. If you arent interested then GTFO of the thread.

Looks good what you pay for that manifold

I paid $120 for it locally with the mod already done. Im pissed because the next week a buddy of mine is selling one for $100 OBO, but I dont know if it has the T25 actuator mod.

If anyone is interested the one I have came from the guy here in Tampa that I think originally started doing this mod back years ago. I now he has at least 2 more with the mod done up for sale, but shipping would probably be at least $20.

Opps sorry, I didn't see you were the OPer, I thought you were arguing against it saying that they cyclone doesn't flow more than the stock, my bad. No harm no foul. And if I could I would show you pics of my cyclone.

Yeah show me some pics thatd be cool, how do you have your butterflys running?

I got pissed at your early post because I thought your "Later Dr Turbo" signature was you calling me Dr.Turbo, saying I was an idiot, my bad.

I believe its something like this, am I correct?

No, I dont think so. I have no idea were that would go or how it would work.

With an EPROM ECU you can get it to work with any of the unused solenoids :)

thats cool, I'd like to hear from some of the people who run it successfully on the performance of it.

No pics. It is being ran the same way with an actuator, of course mine is mounted differently and I am using a 14b actuator.

Where does that big bracket with butterfly go? I dont see anywhere that could bolt to or work, all the butterflys for the cyclone are inside and run on a long shaft, so I dont see how that flange with one big throttle body looking butterfly would work. How does that work and where does it go?
