1. Anyone know the part number for the gasket that goes to the oil pick up tube?
2.Are all oil pick up tubes the same or are turbo ones different?(the picture looks different)
3. Do I need a turbo oil pick up tube to convert my non turbo engine?

Anyone use scotch bright to clean up and remove the gunk from the old oil pan gasket?
 
i would deal with extreme psi. Thats where i get most of my parts.And your in PA its 1 day away free shiping.....1-800-psi-4502...or check out thier site. But just a couple gaskets you can get from any auto parts store.

Do you mean oil return and not pick-up? I'm confused.

The turbochargers on 1G cars get their oil from the head via a metal line and banjo bolts.

Im talking about the oil pick up tube inside the oil pan. is there a diffrence between non turbo and turbo oil pick up tube?
 
Yea I did look in my book and it looked like there is 2 different oil pick up tubes well i guess maybe just there mesh part is a little bit of a difference but maybe its not enough to matter anyways. I think mabey the mesh end is diffrent on turbo-non turbo.:confused:
 
All oil return gaskets are the same throughout all the years. They are physicaly different but gaskets work together.(oil return hole is same size and bolt holes are in same place).
The easyiest way to solve return pipe issues is to get any gasket and cut out flex section in stock return and replace with -12 hose and then you can put any return line on any year/make/model DSM.
BTW: I don't recomend sanding the flange down to remove the gasket material. It will cause the flange to get rounded and not seal properly. Use a very SMALL amout of RTV to stick the gasket to the turbo center section and then bolt up the return line to the turbo but keep bolts loose. Then line up oil pan flange place gasket in between and bolt in bottom flange. return to top bolts and tighten, return to bottm bolt and tighten.
If you did flex secton mod, now would be when you tight worm clamps that will hold -12 hose to stock oil return pipe.

BTW: this is just my opinion and the N/T don't have a TURBO oil return line....the 2 differant tubes the manual is refuring to are 90-94 and 95-99
