99 gs turbo conversion help

today i was put into contact with a friend of my pops who has just finished turbo'in his 99 gs its a 2.0 with the timing belt on the passenger side. so what do i need to do to the ecu, i believe he put in 450's but im not too sure yet, i have yet to see it but, he needs to know what his options are for fuel control. anyone know????

You do nothing to the ECU, unless you are going with MS. He will also need an FCD or ML installed.

The cheapest, easiest, and most popular way to control fuel for boost on a 2gnt is to use a 12:1 FMU for stock injectors, or an S-FMU for larger injectors.

He could also add extra injectors (8 injector setup) and run a 034efi or Portfueler controller. This is not inexpensive, though. MS (or MSnS-E) does beautiful things, is not expensive, and is usually the best option.

FYI: With stock internals, don't run more than 5psi without an intercooler, and 8-9psi with an intercooler.

and if you boost 15psi you start to blow oil pump seals and such... i got all my turbo kit from hahn racecraft they are very helpful when it comes to 420a turbo conversions...

There is almost nothing you can do with the stock ecu that is conducive to boosting the 420a. If you want to run 450's from a dsm you will need a resistor pack(unless you run msns) and a sfmu.
