Well I recently blew the stock head gasket and warped my head. I just installed a mildly proted and polished head with revised lifters and '92 cams, a cometic gasket and arp studs.

After I got it fired up I took it for a spin and logged it with Link. At idle or while engine brakeing I see no knock. While cruising I flatline at 3.2* taken out from timing. What could be causing me to constantly see 3.2* worth of knock? Could it just be a bad sensor?

My timing is dead on (I checked it with a light) and with it grounded Link reads 5.2* at idle. The only other thing I can think of is that my ungrounded idle timing fluctuates from 13-16* and that seemed kinda low to me.

I am at a loss of what it could be.

Check your knock sensor, and sensor wire. When the ecu consistently takes out 3 degrees of timing it means it's not seeing a good knock sensor signal.

Thanks pneumo. The plugs are connected and the wires are not frayed or grounded to anything so I am going to replace the sensor and see if that fixes the problem.
