Help with logging

Well my car runs like shit so I figured I should probably get a logger of some sort.
I did a bit of searching but didn't find much in regards to exactly what I would need as far as hardware and software goes. I have an Alienware M15x Laptop.

Is there a way for me to log with only a laptop?

I log with ONLY my laptop using ECMLink, you can also log with a laptop using AEM EMS and Evo Scan ('98-'99 ECU).

I guess a better question for me to ask is what would be easiest and cheapest. My laptop does not have a db9 or serial port and from what i've read it doesn't work through usb. So is pocketlogger my best choice?

The easiest/cheapest way is to buy EvoScan and the VAG COM 409.1 cable for around $50.

Post up on AZ AWD and see if you can find anyone who is willing to give you a hand with logging your car! I am sure there are some tuners near you on there and here that would be willing to help out.
