Hello everyone! I'm currently rebuilding the engine in my Eclipse. It originally was a 6 bolt but i swapped a 7 bolt because the block was cracked and couldn't find a replacement.

I need to change the crankshaft, a con rod and con rod and main bearings, and also the oil pump just to make sure. Other stuff might come up but that's basically it.

Now, I know i need to buy 7 bolt parts, and the 2g ones fit also, but are there other stuff I should know? Are there other differences between the 1g and 2g 7 bolts? Do turbo parts fit on an N/A? Do Evo parts fit, even with the inverted 7 bolt engine? Are there any other things I should consider replacing?.

Thank you in advance, I want to be really careful with the parts, they're expensive and hard to come by here in Europe and new aftermarket parts are mostly out of the questions since they go for at least a thousand euros.

Assuming you have a 1g 7 bolt.

All 7 bolt (1g, 2g and all EVO/RVR/Chariot) crankshaft, rods, rod bearings, oil pump gears are interchangeable. Not exactly the same though. EVO 4+ rods are slightly durable and EVO 5+ cranks are slightly lighter.

Are there other differences between the 1g and 2g 7 bolts?
Are there any other things I should consider replacing?.
1G 7 bolt has :
- One piece main bearing (not split thrust)
- 1g 6 bolt style oil squirters (if turbo block)
- No oil pan baffle
- 1g 6 bolt.timing components and water pump.
