I have a 97 gsx with a 6 bolt. I'm trying to put on a new cam/crank angle sensor on my car. It seems like a simple install but I am not 100% sure its correct. I researched on here but couldn't find much answers.
Ok my first question is, the metal fitting inside the head where the cas connects, it doesn't move, is that normal? The reason why I ask is because RRE said to turn that while the key is in on "on" position and I should hear the injectors clicking and the fuel pump turn on, but when i went to do that the metal sensor inside the head doesn't turn. Am I supposed to take off the cover of the CAS and turn the metal dial from there while the key is on position?
Do I have to turn the crank TDC#1 first before putting in the CAS or put the CAS in first and put it to TDC#1?
I noticed the CAS has slots where the bolts go through so you can adjust it. I marked the old CAS outlining with a sharpy that I can match with the new one but I want to be absolutely sure its in the right position. How do I adjust it to the right position before tightening the bolts?
RRE said after the install to make sure to set the timing. How do I adjust the timing. I believe they said it would be fine if I set it +5. But I don't know how to do adjust the timing. How would I go about doing that?
Thanks guys.
