help with buying an item

hi i am needing a new compressor housing for my 16g turbo. i typed in the serial number into google and it came up as small 16g what i was wondering is if a ebay compressor housing would be alright or if it would be a waste i know ebay turbos arent recommended but what about just the compressor housing? heres the link to one on ebay.

The compressor blade isn't the same size as the one you chose:

Small 16g: 1.830" inducer, 2.365" exducer
Big 16g: 1.892" inducer, 2.680"exducer
Evo III 16g: 1.902" inducer, 2.680"exducer

Because of this you wouldn't be able to use the Evo III compressor housing on it. There would be a gap because the compressor blades aren't the same size hence the compressor cover would be too big for a small 16g wheel.

I believe Hahn Racecraft sells compressor covers for the small 16g and they are downfiring orientation so if you have an FMIC it'll help route the piping.

its not giving me a price. so would u say if i found the right compressor housing an ebay one would be legit or no?

Well yeah, a compressor cover is a compressor cover. It's really hard to mess that up. Finding one that fits correctly would be you're biggest issue. Also if you're not running an internal wastegate you can venture in Subaru covers since they have 16g as well which aim the flow differently than ours.

You can't use an Evo III cover on a Small 16G wheel.

Why not just put a WTB add and grab a used one, I'm sure someone's got one laying around from a dead S16g.

beyond repair? i doubt it but im jsut sick of it i dont wanna mess with it id rather get a new one.

Trouble is when most Small 16G's die, the fins shear off the compressor wheel or they develop a massive amount of in/out play from thrust wear...both of which damage the cover beyond use.
