in my other post i stated that i have an incredibly low idle after replaceing my headgasket and doing other maintence work....i was told that the ecu might take a couple of days to get used to everything but i also was told that my biss my need adjustment...i searched and found the vfaq and some other info regarding how to adjust it....however i am still a little confused....i dont have a datalogger or scan tool to hoo up, but evidently everyone says it will be fine with out it...my question is, do i just turn up the biss little by little till the idle goes up? ive read many different theorys on the correct way to do this with out the electronic tools but i want to know exactly what i should do so i dont end up with a surging idle! i never had any idle issues prior to replacing the headgasket so this is really annoying!! thanks for your help!

i noticed that is for a first gen, is that the same for 2g? why is there a need to ground anything?

Should be the same, but I don't know what pin you will need to ground on the ECU port for a 2G.

You have to ground the ISC as it only has a limited range. When you ground it out it centers the ISC in it's range so when you set the idle the ISC has full control to keep it steady.
