So I am currently in the process of building my 2.3 I have at the moment

-Weisco Pistons - (bored .020 over)
-Eagle H Beam
-Stock 2.4 crank
-ARP Headstuds
-HKS 272
-Brian Crower Spings/Retainers
-DSMlink V2

I will be grabbing a hx-35/40 and a SMIM once I get the car properly tuned and running. Some questions I have been running into are

What size injectors should I be running. I am planning on using e85.

What fuel pump (friend recommended just running an bosch 044 inline and stock pump)

And do I need to upgrade fuel rail?

Goals for the car will be around 28 psi, but I want to have everything to be able to go up to 35psi. Let me know what you guys think, thanks!

You don't need a new fuel rail, you should use a Jay Racing pump or DW300, and you'll want 1400s or bigger.

corn fed... super soaker nozzles for injectors. i believe 1600cc are the biggest you can get and retain the stock resistor pack.

A friend was pushing me into the blue max 1680 High impedance. He is also running an a1000 on a stock fuel pump and said that it push's plenty of fuel.

Will 1680's be high enough to push 30psi on e85?

You're going to need to do your own math.
If for some ridiculous reason you want to spend more money than you need to, by all means go buy an A1000 instead of listening to the sound advice I have given.

Forget the stock pump. Even a Wally 255 will be borderline on E85 with 35 psi on a HX40. Follow Absit's advice in post #2. I'm running FIC Bluemax 1250's and was out of pump way before being out of injector.

With a good AFPR, you can adjust the fuel pressure to get some wiggle room one way or the other.

Alright. I currently have one Wally 255 and fuellab fpr. Should I sell the Wally and get a dw300 or run 2 wallys

Running dual walbros or the dw300 will both work for 35psi on e85. Look into what it takes to setup two walbro pumps vs setting up just one and compare the costs to make your decision. My guess, being that the dw300 pump is just $169, is that setting up a single pump will be much more cost effective.

At 25 psi on the HX40 I was starting to lean out with one intank walbro 255. I had 1450cc Bluemaxx's. I think the DW300 would supply enough fuel especially if it was rewired for that amount of airflow. But you can buy an intank Walbro 255 and make a nice supply line to an inline 255 and have all the fuel you need. The intank Walbros(85ish psi) run at a lower PSI than the inline pumps(upwards of 115 psi) and it seems that the biggest problem with the intank pumps is not so much the flow but retaining the pressure at the rail.

+1 on the cost effectiveness of one pump versus setting up the line and buying 2 pumps.
