2.3 7 bolt build $1700 budget

On the street you can't beat a stroker. They're no less reliable than any other combination. More power under the curve. Also more torque and peak power at a lower RPM saves wear and tear on the valvetrain. We've never built one and had the customer say they wish they'd built a 2.0.

I Would strongly reconsider your budget. You'll be hard pressed to complete a build like this for $1700 and you'll find yourself cutting corners.

rx7ttlm is so very correct. Getting 500hp is one thing, keeping it maintained is another completly different thing. $1700 will go very fast when you get going on the project. Good luck though I am sure a 2.3 with a small turbo or even a big turbo would be very very fun.

is not that i plan on not tunning the car at all. I'm just not set up to tune at the moment. The plans are no longer to stay in the 300hp range since ive decided i want to move into and awd platform in the future. I want to build this up right and carry it over to the awd.

exactly, thats why im trying to find out if i can run this set the way implanning on... of course i dont plan to hit the track with out a tune but at least ill know if i can make arun to for groceries or whatever erans i have to run. Im not trying to skip corners. That was the reason for the thread to begin with. So that i can A: reconsider my plans or B: know that it will take longer for me to get the car going right.
Simple... im in no rush, i have other cars as well.
