So, I'm picking up a 95 awd talon tomorrow(already have the title and all), has a bunch of mods and whatnot but only problem is that the engine knocks badly. Crankwalk maybe, idk.
Anyways, I have a 1g 7 bolt shortblock with evo 9 pistons, fresh from the machine shop that I'm going to put in. I also have a 1g 7 bolt head with evo9 springs and retainers, new valves, etc.
Would it be better to go with the 1g head or 2g head? I know the ports on the 1g are larger but upon searching it seems that larger isn't necessarily better. I was thinking of just swapping my evo9 springs and retainers onto the 2g head. If I kept the 2g head, worth it be worthwhile to put my 1g tb on and port out my 2g im?
Also, what are the differences between the 1g 7 bolt and the 2g shortblocks and would I need to change anything up on my 1g 7bolt shortblock?
