Resolved Help to identify Part

Friend helped me take stuff apart to do the work on my car, he however had to leave to go home out of state and well not I am putting car back together and came across this and well not sure what the hell it is .

I'm no expert but it looks like an electrical ground for something. What kind of things did you take a part?

I had to drop the trans to replace the rear main seal and now putting everything back.

It is a hold down tab that mounts on top of the transmission, I think to hold the backup switch wiring in place, but that is what it is, a hold down. I don't use mine but it is mounted to the top of the trans in the middle. I will see if I have a picture.

Sorry, no picture of it but it isn't something you have to have on the car.

I'm bad about that , sorry my friend! I DID have an extra cotter pin in a bag attached to that bracket which I noticed this weekend was now missing so it was easy to id!

You will be fine with or without it. It just bolts to the top of the tranny, in the middle of the housing.
