hey guys i got a used 14b and found that one of the stubs on the hot side that goes to the o2 housing is broken of in the hole...my question is how can i get the broken stub out with out having to take it to a machine shop.

thanx in advance:thumb:

i'm assuming you had room to grab it with vice grips right? in which case you should be able to just spray it with pb blaster and twist it out, if that doesnt work, let the pb blaster soak in for a while, then grab a map gas torch, heat up the area around the stud, grab it with some vice grips and try that. if that doesn't work your only real option is the machine shop. you could try to drill it out but unless you have alot of time, patience and drill bits it's unlikely.

if you had a small pencil grinder, you could put a notch in the piece to fit a flat head screwdriver to help get it to turn...that's worked for me MANY times since I work in a machine shop....you could try and drill it out yourself but be prepared to re thread the hole with a tap set and if that hole can't be out of location a little or a little bigger, just send it in.

If that does not work and the broken bolt is long enough that it sticks up higher than the surface which the hole is in you can put a nut on the top of it and weld it goodo n top of the broken stud, than you can unscrew it wiht your everyday wrench or ratchet.

That's brilliant! I can't believe I've never thought of that :coy: ... thanks for posting your tip, that will definitely help me out some time in the future! :thumb:
