Yes sir, im in the process of doing a full drag build and need that out of the way so I can weld my cage, im stumped, I almost want to just take a hammer to it, its all junk to me anyway, I don't need it cars stored in a heated garage and will only be taken out if weathers nice or to the track

I seem to remember some of the bolts/nuts being a bit more hidden when I took mine out. Have you gotten you head up under it to see if there's anything hiding anywhere? Or can you try taking one piece out as maybe it's hiding a nut holding the next piece on?

I did this just about a week ago, and you're right, there fasteners that hold the assy. to the firewall.

Mine was a beyotch to remove, even with all of my interior removed. The HVAC controls have to be removed first, because the vent controls are connected to the heater core/blower assembly. Also, it comes out in 3 pieces. So if you can get one piece out, then you may be able to wiggle the other two pieces out.

Also, are your A/C lines disconnected on the engine bay side?

yes I removed the whole dash and the whole wiring harness and tried getting to every bolt I could, I removed all ac lines, power steering, cruise control everything I cant figure it out I feel like its something stupid, I could care less if this thing had heat and ac just excess weight

From what I recall, its the tips of the heater core for the pipes to clamp over on the other side of the fire wall that make it difficult to remove. With the dash removed and everything disconnected, a while of wiggling it allowed it came out easily.
