420A Help removing axle cup from transmission

So... As u can see the joint in the axle got pulled apart...this was due to a ball joint failure.... Any ideas/tips on how to remove?

I usually get a short pry bar behind it if you use to long of one it puts to much pressure on the c clip, and won't pop out straight. I ended up destroying mine that way so I've had good luck with a short one.
 
I had one get absolutely seized and used a vicegrip 5# slide hammer and popped right out
