I have been trying to remove an axle from my eclipse 97 gst i have sprayed it with wd 40 for couple of days and nothing have hammered it and nothing I've even smacked it with a sludge hammer since i am replacing the axle with a new one and nothing you guys have any suggestions on how i can remove it?

u might be right control arms are all off because i pulled out the transmission and does move a little when i try to apply pressure on it
It must be held solid as a rock with all arms attached or in a vise. The hammer shock does nothing if it's allowed to give (think of hitting a piece of steel held in your hand vs in a vice). It makes all the difference! Mine only got loose after I rebolted all the arms back on tight. I also kept a floor jack under the lower ball joint (and lifted it slightly) to help keep it rigid. What a HUGE difference it made!

I'm gona bolt it up tonight and go at it with a air hammer tommorow ill let you guys no how that goes this thing is making me stress i been pb blasting it for a while now but dosent seem to be helping much

Took a 20-ton press and a Rosebud oxy/acetylene torch attachment to get the axles out of the hubs on my buddy's 2G TSi when we changed the front wheel hubs/bearings last summer. My 12-ton press wouldn't touch them.

Good luck- be sure to anti-seize the sh!t out of them when you put it all back together.

i had the same problem. i took the hole axle and knuckle out and hit it with a sledge hammer, air chizzle, torched it.. Nothing worked. it was fused together. ordered a knuckle for $124 at Mitsubishi Graveyard and a knew axle.

I had to do this to one of mine. Take the hole unit(hub and axle assy) to a shop and see if they'll press it out for you, shouldn't cost to much either. Just my $0.02

So after about a week of Pb blasting it i tried went at it first with the gear puller no luck .
Then called a buddy up went to his place grabbed a air impact hammer heated it up and when at it at 130psi and still nothing I'm starting to run out of options and patience with this thing

20# sledge....If you don't want to go that route than remove it and take it to a machine shop to have it pressed out...

20# sledge....
We tried that first on my buddy's 2G while the axle was still on the car. Lots of heat and a sledge led to a bent axle stub- the part that protrudes through the hub where you would install the locknut.

It wasn't until after the 20-ton press popped the axle out that we realized the sledge helped the situation about as much as taking a leak in the ocean and judging how much the water level rises.

ah god damm it shoulda searched and read my stuff

Call your local mitsubishi dealership up

Order a new spindle and it might come with 2 lower control arms

DO NOT ORDER THE CONTROL ARMS FROM AN AUTOPARTS STORE

YOU WILL PAY 5 TIMES AS MUCH

Next go to advance auto or autozone or your local parts place and order

1.Axle
2.Hub bearing

And the job is done!

EDIT

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO PRESS IT OUT NO MORE! YOUR WASTING A LOT OF TIME!

Eh, I somewhat disagree.

Had we not beat the sh!t out of the passenger's side axle with a sledge before we pressed it, the axle would not have required replacement. There was nothing wrong with the axles when we started- the right front wheel bearing was howling and needed replaced. Of course, he decided to replace both bearings at once while we were doing the clutch. The driver's side front axle was salvaged in 100% perfect condition from the press. Even by replacing just one axle, he was still $100 to the plus.
