Help re-installling my 98 CAS

This is what happens when you have your car apart for over a year

I am re-installing my 7 bolt CAS ( 1998 ) the intake cam is threaded to allow a "sprocket" which has two openings on it. ( which you can install two different ways, both openings are difference sizes ) When you have your engine at top dead center how is this to be installed? I cannot remember to save my life, and i cannot find this info anywhere thanks

Thats how it should be oriented at TDC... Anything else your having trouble with?

I'm installing my CAS after new head install, is it the same for all vehicles, obviously with that style CAS? Just want to make sure it goes in that position like in the pic at TDC or if each vehicle is different.

Nope, its the same for all '97 - '99 cam angle sensors thats what TDC looks like on the back of the intake cam.

Nice, thanks! One last question, I noticed RTV on the CAS, is there supposed to be some sort of gasket on there? Part #? maybe? Thanks

No gasket, at least not on my car. I would use a THIN layer of rtv around it though to keep oil from working its way out and making a mess of the engine bay.

Got it, that is what I thought, because I noticed no gasket but RTV when I pulled CAS off. Thanks again.
