What is a better way to read timing in a 2.4 build
Should i stick with using the crank angle sensor and the cam angle sensor in the cam gear or go with the cam angle sensor and just rewire
I know back in the day people preferred the 1g cam angle sensor to adjust base timing, ill jsut set mine 5BTDC but to me the 2g cam and crank angle sensor just seems like a more accurate way

What are the plusses and minuses of each?

having a crank sensor is more accurate since it eliminates timing belt stretch/whip. i believe there are a few threads on this subject.

If you have the option to use the crank sensor than definitely go that route. I would also use one or the 2g cam sensors vs that 1g cas with the 2g crank sensor. What head are you running?

This is what i figured, to me it seems it would be more accurate that way, most people i talk to are just like "use the black top like weve been doing for years" but to me it just seems lazy, and i understand its much simpler.
All in the same breath im like does it really need to be that accurate?
Ill be using a 7bolt head with fidanza cam gears that are tapped for the cam sensor
