leaning towards the megan racing because of the price. but i havent seen pictures of it. but on the other hand, thanks to gofer for the pictures, i really like the way the HKS looks. (like the slanted look) he also said it sounds very deep at idle, which i also want. (i dont want an exhaust that sounds like a honduh at WOT)

let me know what you guys think. and post pictures/videos of both of them. preferably the Megan Exhaust.

I'm not a big fan of the tip..I'm kind of leaning torwards a more stock appearing muffler..Instead of the large muffler that most of us purchase..I'm a hipocrit, I know mine is large as well(for now)..

I do like the slanted look of the HKS, but the price of the Megan racing is smoother on the wallet.. You could have your local exhaust shop bend one up for you, and then buy the slanted tip of your choice.. Or just go with one of the kits, so all you have to do is put it on..

Neither go with tsudo ets series, Looks like that sounds like that but its AT LEAST 100 bones less than the megan. Oh and it does not neck down to the stock cat size or a 2.5 inch. It stay's a full three all the way, And it does not have that crazy super blaster can. That thing looks like an AT4 aiming down range 40 degree off target. The tsudo angles out a little but not anything close to that. It also has that nice deep rumble @ idle and does not sound like an angry wasp up top. If thats the look you want there is no other choice if your trying to save a back. The quality and part fitments are on par with both of the brands listed above.:thumb:

I chose Megan for a few reasons:
SS
very few bends
price
full 3"

There are more pictures here:
Megan Racing

I haven't installed it yet but it looks like decent quality. From what I can see from HKS's website, the Hi-Power doesn't have SS tubing (only the muffler is SS). That would be a deterring factor for me.

I say you run a pipe out the side LOL. if thats not your style I would go with the megan racing one because they actually make some quality stuff, it looks a lot like my apexi n1.

well due to the compression on the 4g63t our cars will rarely sound like a drunk man peeing on an electrical fence!!!

the hondas main sould the way they do, due to the compression!

(if im not misstaken! If so.. let me know!) ;)

That and we have a turbine wheel in our exhaust stream.

It looks like the megan has two downpipe adapters. One thats 3 inches and one to connect to the stock cat. Is that the case? If so thats nice. Ive been looking for an exhaust that doesnt neck down for some time now and havent found one that I like.

I had a megan on my old 98 GST. It sounded great and looked just as good. Megan sells a lot of great products and I will definitely be buying whatever I need from them

I bought a used HKS hi power muffler and had a local exhaust shop make me a 3" catback for under $300 (including price of used muffler). But after a few years of the constant drone i can say im getting rid of it and opting for a more stealth look/sound. I did love the HKS' deep tone much nicer than the megan and apexi mufflers.

finally made a choice. Megan downpipe, no cat, thermal R&D. love it, would def. recommend it!

already got a few random people i pull up to at a red light say "woah nice exhaust". very deep tone, and sounds amazing at WOT.

only 2 things i had trouble with is one, i had to dent the downpipe a little bit inorder to bolt it up to a stock o2 housing, and i had to cut the flange on the thermal off (tri-flange) add a few inches of piping and weld on a 2 bolt flange for the megan. I did it right and it fit perfectly.

EDIT yeah my car is super dirty, i need to clean it.... yucky!
