ok well to start i havent had this car but 2weeks LOL i bought a 93 eclipse 1.8 sohc. going into it i knew the alternator was bad so i waited until it broke the belt which happend while driving cause the water pump 2 fail and exploding the radiator. so the car sat a few days i got the parts and replaced the alternator and radiator no problem but now when you start the car and try to let it idle it bogs down into a stall, but if you keep it above 2000rpm it holds fine. i dont think i did anything to it but sould the timing just be off now since i took all the belts off and put the new one on? i didnt touch the timing belt i didnt even take the cover off to even be able to see it. i have no clue and need help pleaseeeeeeeeeeeee

1.8's are a non-interference motor. Belt breaks and all valves close immediately.

Sounds like a simple case of a tuneup is in order being a distributored motor - could be that the belt did slip a tooth causing the distributor to really go off-time being that it runs off the front end of the cam.

I would definitely check into this area for tuning problems whereas the 1.8 also uses the 5* BTDC rules as does our 2.0L motors.

hmm well im going to pull the timing cover and check it out and i will let you know, also i was checking around other threads and saw some one was having similar problems due to bad plugs and wires, i may have gotten some degreaser down into the plugs do you think this could effect it? well thanks for the input i am goin to check these few things and give another update.....
i also just found this it sounds somewhat familiar could it be a spark trasistor? http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/problem-diagnosis/318357-car-wont-start-after-rebuild.html

This is not a true statement. 1.8s may not be interference engines but that does not mean that the valves close.

If your water pump failed and your radiator exploded, sounds like you may have overheated it and caused damage to the head or head gasket.

a thorough compression check would be in order before proceeding any further.

hmm im not sure about the head gasket thing, ive checked and its all clean fluids are fine and i have no noticable leaks, im really trying not to pull apart the block. if the compression test fails i think i may just swap the engine w/ the 4g63t. if degrease gets into the electrical do you think that could cause this problem? i have no engine lights or anything leading me 2 think electrical is not the problem. thanks for all the input

oo well im giving up im sending it up to rosedale tech with my buddy and see what they come up with....

Can i ask why you gave up? or even let your car brake down when you knew of these issues? if you would have fixed these problems before they went completely im more than willing to bet that you wouldnt be in this position. this is a perfect example of not taking care of your car and the end result of it.

Sorry if it sounds harsh but i see and hear about alot of people being carless with there vehicle and it braking down then not knowing why it broke and it being way worse when it could have easily been prevented

the only reason i let it get like this was too many bills and didnt have the money to prevent the problems and still dont really thats y rosedales doin it for free and all i have to pay is parts, but il still be in the loop knowing whats happining
