help! EVO 9 confusion.

ok, im rebuilding my engine. Its at the machine shop now, but im still really confused on wich direction to install my evo 9 pistons. ive researched and found mixed results. some say you have to install the backwards dots opposite of timing belt because evo engines are opposite of ours. others say they'll work fine. then theres the offset issue. how is the proper offset achieved?
