ECU Confusion HELP!

I am in the middle of the low boost (6psi) turbo project for my 98 spyder and need to tune the ECU for the turbo. I want to chip the ECU because it will be cheaper. I have tried to research about different options but I am still unclear. I fould the dsmchips.com but I can only use them if I have a turbo ECU. Can a put a turbo ECU into my car? What is EPROM that is one thing that I am entirely confused about. I really need a solution so any help would be great.

EPROM(Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory)
ECU's with EPROM chips are only found in 95's (and very few 96's) on 2g's
This is why they hold value and normaly cost quite a bit more then othe years.

you cannot just smack a turbo ECU into your car-
A standalone sounds a good option for you (haltek,aem,etc)
