help drivetrain problems

Well i was driving on the hwy, and the rear end was making a vibrating and chattering noise. it only made the noise with light load. Not at full load or decel. Than the noise got louder and all of a sudden the tranny popped out of gear. The clutch got very stiff wouldnt disengage. I limped home by starting it in gear, but i couldnt give it hardly any load or it would make loud chattering and slipping. It feels like it just gives out. I can accel very slowly. The noise sounds mostly from the rear of the car Grinding and slipping when i give to much, and the rear end is making a clicking noise all the time.

To be honest it sound's like your clutch went that's 100% sure and maybe your rear end. WHen my rear diff went it made the same noise. A loud chattering and got worse the more I boosted.

Did your drivetrain slip and grind on you when accelerated like it was breaking loose. When i bought the car not to long ago. I got it from some young kid. Well he hit a curb and blew a tire. He put a small doughnut on and tore apart the tranny. It made kind of the same noises, but its coming from the back and possably the midde now. I replaced the tranny about 1000 miles ago so i hope I didnt cause damage to it.

Well I raised the rear of the car the tires spin freely no noise. I also raised one of the front wheel still couldnt anything. How likely would a rear diff. failure to damage the transfer case, center diff. or other parts of the tranny? How do I go about tracing down the problem with out waisting a lot of time chasing the wrong things.
