Hey all, thanks for checking this out.

I have just bought a deregistered 89 ZR4 auto. (same as Galant VR-4 but liftback) I am going to trailer it back to my place this afternoon. This is to go with my evo 1 and 6 bolt Chariot.

It doesn't start. This is not a problem - I should be able to figure it out.

The issue for me is that it is auto. I have a lot of experience working on manual transmissions but not auto. The previous owner (or the one before) decided to pull apart the shifter. There are a bunch of pieces lying around on the floor of the car. Is someone able to point me in the right direction here, I don't mind if it doesn't look pretty, I just want to be able to shift. Maybe someone could point out a workshop manual that has some info that I can read up about.

I will post a photo later this evening.

Cheers!

is it the same a a 1G auto shifter? If so..it may just be a better idea to buy one of those.
