help act 2600 is slipping

flywheel is resurfaced to .612, act 2600 pressure plate/disc, timken throwout bearing, put the clutch in yesterday, grabbed like hell, drove to school today and it's slipping, there is about 2-3" of pedal slack at the top, so my guess is that it's not fully engaging, what can I do to test or fix this? it slips really bad and I doubt a clutch can go out in 18hrs, I bought it used to it's already broken in, I didn't even launch on it, so can somebody tell me what's up. car is 1991 talon tsi awd

U bought it used? If so it could very well be destroyed in 18hrs. How bad was the wear on the disck surface when you installed it? Get any greese or oil on the PP friction surface?
