Issue : consistently blows 10A heater relay fuse as soon as you turn the ignition on. Blower Fan does NOT work in ANY position.
Action taken : bench tested blower motor and it works great
Checked voltage at 10A heater relay fuse terminals in fuse box.
With ignition in the on position 12 volts present at fuse terminals.
Pulled connectors from the back of the HVAC control panel and
found the #6 pin to be burned (circeld in black) and there's no
wire going to the # 1 pin (circled in red) The fan switch itself
was all burned and crumbled to pieces when I removed the
connector.
Questions :
Is there supposed to be a wire at the #1 terminal
(circled in red) ?
What may have caused this ?
What will fix it ?
Will replacing the fan switch correct the problem ?
Is there anything else I should check before replacing
the fan switch ?
