5/16 heater hose...i replaced mine and I used in total for in and out hoses and extra in case= six feet.

I want to eliminate steel connector pieces and silicone tubes with a couple holding brackets. My steel pieces are ugly and rust covered

oh, on the tube connector you can replace that piece. On the "Water Pipe Assembly", that will be replaced by finding a part's car like I did, because mine was rusted and pulled another and wire brushed back to life and HEAT HIGH black paint...or maybe dealership, NO "auto part's store" is going to be able to get a hold of that...being in the photo above the exhaust manifold.

So I could just run silicone tubing from filler neck to heater core: heater core to radiator. Might order steel braided covered hoses. So its definitely going to clean up nice. 5/16" is the rubber tube size correct?

I suppose you could, But a nice "clean up/polished" should be all that you need to make it look good. Oh and yes, the "Heater Core hoses" are 5/16.

Finally got around to running the new lines. And used extra to match pcv hose.

Used pipe cuter to get rid of most ugly piping
