my passenger side headlight is acting dumb. the brights, parking lights, and turn signal work fine. but not the normal running light. stumped because the whole lights works when i turn on my brights. i am a newbie.

It's going to be either an issue with the wiring of the head light itself, or could be as simple as replacing the bulb itself which is most likely out.

The easy way to check is to swap lowbeam bulbs from one side to the other. If the issue moves, then you know it's the bulb. If it's the same, then you have to dig deeper.

Then...

By normal running light, with your description of everything, I'm assuming you mean the low-beam light. Check your relay/ fuses for corrosion (replace as needed), and check your wiring for breaks or burn marks. Sounds like your low-beam on that side could be grounding out until you add the high-beam
